HARD have expanded there current setup line to bring you 1/8 scale setup systems for both the on-road and off-road classes. The precision machined aluminum plate with a hard coating finish.

HARD brings you a new concept in setup systems. Traditional setup systems always have the camber gauge scale on the bottom. With the side plate is attached to the main plate (with the car wheel axle attached) by the upper side knob. Sometimes, the main plate cannot move freely and it may cause some accuracy problems. With HARD's new upside down design which allows the main X plate to move freely.

Precision cut & function

HARD setup systems are specially designed & made for all levels of racer who love quality products. All HARD aluminum setup plates are CNC machined to the highest standard thus allowing zero play. The aluminum plates & acryl are machined by the latest CNC machines to meet the high standard set by HARD; Aluminum material is far stronger than the traditional material used to produce current market setup systems. There is no flex with the new system, additionally it is strong & lightweight, and any low stress material has been removed. In addition, HARD designers have used high quality bearings to make the movement as smooth as possible, but no unwanted play.

Crazy hard treatment

HARD uses hard coated treatment on many of their products, including the new setup systems. By using the hard coat on the setup system not only do we achieve a great look and feel, we are able to provide our customers with a long life product that will remain in top class condition. All camber & toe angle readings are laser etched with polished arrows to identify the angles with ease.

Easy assembly & usage

HARD have designed the new setup system to be setup and dismantled as quickly as possible. This is achieved with the use of two hand knobs and the system will disassemble with ease. No tools required approach means all you need is your hands to setup and dismantle the system. Storing the setup using the special HARD setup system bag provided. The four units in the setup system are identical and have four large hand nuts to secure the setup system onto the wheel shaft's of the Truggy. Within a few seconds you will be able to see the current camber angle. With the provision of a clear acrylic plate assisted by bearings, you have the ability to measure and view the toe angle with ease.

The ability to have a precision setup system is a requirement for any driver to achieve a well balanced and setup Truggy. HARD set up systems not only provide a great look and feel they actually provide the professional setup required for all levels of driver with the additional ease of use. Need a world class set-up system to improve your car's handling? HARD is the only choice for you.

Instruction Manual

Assembly

We make a groove on the upper of the main camber gauge plate.

Please attach the side plate under the groove to fix. Then you just need to fasten the lower knob and make sure bearing are installed as well.

Remove the wheels from the Truggy and insert the wheel shafts into the setup system. Then fasten using the hand nuts to secure the Truggy in place allowing no movement between the setup system and the wheel shafts.

Adjustment

Camber

Camber is the angle at which the type makes contact with the driving surface. Camber is best set so the tires contact with the ground is the greatest possible surface area at all times. On really bumpy tracks, adding a little more negative camber (2 to 3 degrees) can help traction and reduce the chances of body roll (this is when your Truggy will flip over due to having too much grip with the surface). Before adjusting the camber of your Truggy make sure that you press the Truggy downwards in the setup system first then release it and allow it to return to its natural position on its own allowing you to have a accurate starting point to make your adjustments. A stiff suspension will require less camber than with a soft suspension.

Toe

Front Toe

Front Toe-in achieves stability of the car in the straights, and coming out of turns.

It allows for smoother steering response from the Truggy and ultimately making it easier to drive.

Front Toe-out increases steering response. If you use too much toe-out the Truggy will loose straight line stability. Decreased out of corner steering response.

Rear Toe

Rear toe-in must be 100% equal on both right & left sides. Otherwise, it will affect the handling and the buggies responsiveness under breaking. To adjust the toe, the car (with set up installed) needs to be placed on the setup board first. Then, put the acrylic plate in front or rear to measure the toe angle. The toe gauge plate is designed to slide over the posts. If you want to measure the toe of rear right side wheel, just put the plate on the rear posts & slide to the right end to get the angle.

More rear toe

Increases stability under breaking and corner exit under power. It will decrease top end speed and cause the car to behave erratically.

Less rear toe

Increase steering responsiveness and allow for greater top end speed additionally the Truggy will be easier to control.
